This means extraordinary sacrifice to show sincere attachment to Jesus. Once we make the decision to follow Jesus and spread His good news, we must deny dead, worldly pursuits and comforts, and do the Lord’s work. I believe that it is possible for a person to be alive physically but dead toward God in their souls.
Lately I found myself asking, what keeps me from following Jesus as I should? Almost anything can come between us and God; the enemy will make sure of that. But Jesus’ call has not changed.
“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me”
(Luke 9:23)
