It’s easy to look to others to make you happy. Especially for women because we tend to look for someone who makes us feel loved, and desired, to feel good about ourselves. This is a very bad practice because your moods are totally contingent upon the way someone else treats you. Only you should be in control of your own happiness. When you learn to truly love yourself, you gain powerful self confidence.

Change the way you see yourself and try to think only positive thoughts. Do things that make you happy. Having a significant other is a wonderful thing (when it’s ordained), but it isn’t the only thing and it certainly doesn’t make you complete, despite what those stupid Hallmark cards might say. Before you can be happy with someone else, you truly need to find happiness within yourself.

For believers, God should be the ultimate source of our happiness.

Meditate on this scripture: “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well. -Psalm 139:14 (NIV)
